The CRT
Mixtape
Calendar
A 365-day reminder for organizations that refuse to forget.
Not a calendar. A curriculum.
The CRT Mixtape Calendar is a 365-day Black history counter-narrative — designed to sit on the desks of teachers, administrators, DEI practitioners, librarians, and community leaders who refuse to let erasure go unanswered.
Each month holds cultural memory, resistance, and joy built into the most ordinary object in any office: the calendar on your desk. Every page is an act of refusal. Every date is a reminder.
“They tried to ban the books, but our culture is the library.”
Built for organizations doing the work.
The more you order, the further it reaches.
16 years. Still becoming.
Chris Owens — performing as Truth B. Told — is a Phoenix-based spoken word artist, educator, and cultural entrepreneur with over two decades of work at the intersection of art, justice, and community.
He is the founder and CEO of CultureHUB, Arizona’s first Black-owned co-working and event space. He is earning an MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University and has performed at Barclays Center, the Alvin Ailey Theater, and the Ford Theater. He is a multiple slam championship winner and the 2012 National Poetry Awards’ Spoken Word Album of the Year recipient.
The CRT Mixtape Calendar is the natural extension of work he has been doing for sixteen years: putting history in the room, making it impossible to look away, and turning that confrontation into something beautiful.

“For organizations investing in DEI, cultural competency, or community engagement — this is the kind of artifact that turns intention into daily practice.”
